NOTE:

When using Internet Explorer with Windows XP, as you download pictures or images from the Internet, by default the Save Picture dialog box that opens will normally show the folder My Pictures in the Save in: location window. If it doesn't, click on the drop-down arrow to browse to the My Pictures folder (see illustration below) which is usually located within the My Documents folder. Double-click on the My Pictures folder to bring it to the little Save in: window. Then continue with Step 4.

4. In the main (lower) window of the dialog box - with My Pictures in the Save in: window above it (see below) - double-click on the Tutorial folder to bring it up to the little Save in: window.

5. Next, double-click on the Originals folder to open it and bring that folder up to the Save in: window. This is where you'll be saving the downloaded original photos.
6. Click on the Save button to save the image to your Originals folder.

7. Click on the Close button at the top right of your Internet browser to close the window displaying the large version of the photo to return to the page of thumbnails.
8. Repeat steps 1 to 7 for each image until all six images have been downloaded and saved to your Originals sub-folder in the Tutorial folder, then jump to Step 12 below.

NOTE: SELECTING THE TARGET FOLDER

Normally each time the Save Picture: dialog box opens, the Save in: window will display the folder you last saved to (e.g. the Originals folder) in which case steps 4 and 5 won't be necessary..

Broadband (DSL/ADSL) users: for those with a Zip program installed such as WinZip

9.

Click on TutorialPhotos.zip (Winzip File - 3.87 megs) to download the zip file containing all six full-size photos. When the File Download dialogue box opens, click the Save button and save to your desktop.

10.

When the zip file has finished downloading, double click to open it, select all the files and then click the Extract button.

11.

Extract to: the folder named Originals by browsing to the My Pictures\Tutorial\Originals directory. Click the Extract button to place the photos into the Originals folder.

12.

Once you have saved all six photos to your Originals folder, go back to the middle of page 7 of the book where it shows you what your file listing in Windows Explorer should now look like.
